  2. IMPORTANT!! IMPORTANT!! ESSENTIAL!! READ THIS!! DO NOT SKIP!!

  4. TO INSTALL:
  5.  
  6. 1) If you have just downloaded the shareware version of 
  7. EPIPHANIES OF THE GODDESS, unzip the archive to a directory of 
  8. choice. Then start Windows, if you have not done so already, 
  9. and open File Manager. Choose Run ... and type in the correct 
  10. path statement for install.exe. Click on OK and the short 
  11. installation process will begin. You may also open the 
  12. directory and file display for the directory of choice and
  13. double click on install.exe to start the installation.

  15. 2) If you have the registered version on 3 1/2" floppies, put 
  16. disk 1 into the small floppy drive which is either drive A
  17. or B depending upon your configuration. Open File Manager and
  18. select Run. Type A:\install or B:\install and click OK. The
  19. installation dialogs are self explanatory and involve only a
  20. few very simple decisions. You may also open the directory and
  21. file display for your floppy drive and double click upon
  22. install.exe to begin the installation procedure.

  24. 3) THIS SCREEN SAVER INSTALLS ITSELF INTO THE DESKTOP ITEM OF THE
  25. WINDOWS CONTROL PANEL. It does not make a program group upon
  26. installation. MAKE CERTAIN YOUR MONITOR IS SET TO 256 COLOR PALETTE!
  27. Open the Control Panel and double click upon Desktop. Activate the 
  28. screen saver and set its timing through the Screen Saver dialog within 
  29. the Desktop item. You may preview it with Test and set an optional 
  30. password protection with Setup.

  33. 3) YOU MUST READ README.TXT which is displayed within the Windows
  34. Notepad upon the completion of a successful installation. DO
  35. NOT SKIP! READ THIS TEXT FILE!! And print it out for further reference: 
  36. it contains a wealth of information. Readme.txt contains essential
  37. information about configuring the screen saver through Desktop in
  38. the Windows Control Panel; registration form; license
  39. agreement; and a file list with historical information about the 
  40. symbolism of the Goddess. All of this information also exists as
  41. separate text files on disk 3 but these files do not install onto 
  42. your hard drive.

  45. IMPORTANT!! IF YOU ARE A REGISTERED USER, READ THIS!!
  46.  
  47. 4) If you edit the default destination during the installation
  48. of EPIPHANIES OF THE GODDESS, DO NOT INSTALL A REGISTERED VERSION 
  49. INTO THE SAME DIRECTORY AS YOUR SHAREWARE VERSION. If you accidentally 
  50. did so you have found out that the slide show is immobilized and 
  51. you do not have a functioning screen saver. Follow this procedure
  52. to re-install EPIPHANIES OF THE GODDESS.

  54.         a) Delete all files and the EPIPH directory.
  55.         b) Delete the INI AND SCRIPT FILES IN YOUR WINDOWS
  56.         DIRECTORY. There will be two such files: epiph####.scr 
  57.         and epiph####.ini. This operation will also delete EPIPH
  58.         from the list of screen savers in the Desktop Item of the 
  59.         Windows Control Panel. 
  60.         c) Restart Windows.
  61.         d) Reinstall EPIPHANIES OF THE GODDESS.
